WhatsApp has officially launched a dedicated app for Apple Watch users, offering a fully interactive messaging experience beyond basic notifications. The app supports full reading of WhatsApp messages—including long texts—and lets users scroll through more chat history for better context. It also enables sending quick emoji reactions and recording voice messages directly from the wrist. Media viewing is enhanced, with clearer images and stickers.

While users can receive WhatsApp call notifications on their Apple Watch, making or answering calls directly on the watch is still limited due to platform restrictions. The app requires an Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10 or newer, paired with an iPhone updated to the latest iOS and WhatsApp versions. After installation via the Watch app on iPhone, WhatsApp automatically appears on the Apple Watch. Notifications must be enabled for messages and calls to show on the watch.
All WhatsApp messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted on the Apple Watch, ensuring privacy and security. This release marks a significant step in expanding WhatsApp’s usability to wearable devices, making staying connected more convenient without needing to pull out your phone
